Pumpkins and Santas

It has been a crazy wonderful couple of months. Leila is growing so fast... standing,walking assisted and something new every day. She is refusing solids most days but is already over 20 lbs. on milk alone. We know she is just waiting until she can have daddy's tasty textured food and not baby mush. Things we know are around the corner: walking, saying more than mamama and dadada, and teeth (mommy winces). She had 3 visits to pumpkin patches because she looked so cute in her Fall surroundings. Christmas is nearly upon us and we are prepared with lists and photos of scared babies on white-haired men's laps. Santa handled Leila's wimpers and was able to keep her silent on his lap for 20 seconds and 2 poses. Well, we are happy and hope all of our loved ones have a very Happy Holidays!

ACL 2008

Leila experienced her first music festival. Her playlist included Mates of State, Eryka Badu, Connor Oberst, Beck, David Byrne, iron and Wine, G Love, Hot Chip... Ears were plugged with headphones, nose was protected by bandana and skin was smothered in sunscreen and shade.

So far her least favorite food! But dada said "eat those peas!"

Crazy week of New Things

Leila has been rolling for weeks now but has mastered the skill. She can now somersault to her desired object. This last week she has conquered sitting unassisted. Her favorite is to sit and pretend she is bull riding - imagine wild arm flinging. For the past week she has been munching on creamed banana and will try avocado for the first time tomorrow. Yay messy green face! We are doing baby signs - Leila just looks at us like were crazy. But we are going to keep at it. She is also saying momma. Not directed at me. This is just what she tends to say over and over if excited, tired or angry. Ok screaming baby says to get off computer.
